Chili is an easy and hearty meal, perfect for a cold fall day. But no one wants to sit over the stove for hours, and not all of us have a slow cooker *cough cough* me! So here is a super simple, healthy and most important delicious chili recipe.
- 2 can of beans
- 1 can of tomato sauce
- 1 lb of ground turkey
- 1 packet of chili seasoning
first take the ground turkey and brown it in a saucepan. I like to make sure it is cooked all the way before adding any seasoning to the meat just to be sure it’s cooked all the way. Nothing like getting sick off of raw meat. Then I add a packet of taco seasoning and trust me this will add some umph to the dish. Optional at this point would be to cut up some fresh garlic and onion and add to the meat, it makes the flavors burst even more but isn’t necessary to have a super delicious dish. From here I strain my beans and wash them and then add them to the meat. I like to use two different kind of beans either black beans and red kidney beans or white cantinelli beans. Now I add my tomato sauce and salt and pepper. I let this simmer for at least 10min to let all the flavors mix together. For me and Brandon this makes about 2 bowls of just chili each but if we add rice it doubles that and we each get about 4 bowls.
