Almond Milk Recipe

Did you know that almond milk is a great source of protein? 6 grams of protein is packed into almonds, and making that into a delicious creamy beverage is so easy! You may never be able to go back to the water-downed alternatives that you buy at the store after this. Such a simple recipe with a little flavor and love.

  • 1 cup of raw California almonds
  • 3 cups of water
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 large unseeded date or 1 teaspoon of syrup

Soak California almonds in water overnight. drain almonds and put them into the blender and add 3 cups of water. Add in the vanilla, cinnamon, and sweetener such as a date or syrup. I love adding in dates because they add a great sweetness while being all-natural and not overbearing, it also mixes nicely with the vanilla. you can add any sweetener you would like or nothing at all if you wish. Once all ingredients have been added to the blender you want to blend on high until desired consistency. With the Vitamix, there is no need to use a cheesecloth but you may find with other blenders you will have to run the liquid through a cheesecloth after to get that velvety smooth consistency. Refrigerate and enjoy! Lasts up to 5 days in the fridge.
